Birthday Card - Mojo Monday 132

Hi, There! It's not Monday but I'm still doing my Mojo Card. Monday's always a hectic day for emails, chores, bills....etc. But hey, without Mondays, they'll be no Tuesdays and the rest of the week! Right?

Okidokee.. I choose the square card today. It's much easier for me to cut squares than circle. But of course, it's much more fun with circles! Just use the Circle Scissors #112530 p.191 (IBC) and your day is done. I still used the circle scissors by measuring 3-7/8" to cut the inner circle for the scallop circle die #113468 p.199.

In this card I used the ever pretty Spring DSP called "Tea Party" #115675 p.162 (IBC). I made sure I stayed within the color scheme of the DSP, which are: (easily found on the footnote under the DSP image in the catalogue)
- Pretty in Pink
- Certaily Celery
- So Saffron
- Almost Amethyst
- Basic Gray (which I didn't use here)

Aren't you glad that you can work easily with the colors suggested by SU! You don't have to go crazy scrounging for colors and papers. Anyway, I hope you like it!

Easter Bunny Treat Cup Card Dispenser

This is one of my Easter Cards I'm sending out to my friend's kids. Isn't it adorable.
Easter is in the corner and I can't wait to see their faces when they get them. In the picture, I placed some pastel Skittles but I do intend to put pastel jelly beans (as soon as I find them).

These cards are dispenser cards where I made slider panels behind. I used a 3-3/4" x 2-1/4" Pretty in Pink cardstock with a round tab at one end. Then used another 3" x 2-1/2" Orchid Orpulence CS to make the slider frame (punch with 1-3/4" Circle punch on the center). To adhere, I used Tombow Multi-Purpose Glue at 2 parallel sides (use glue thinly closer to the edge).

Here's another fellow in my Easter cards. He's made of Creamy Caramel CS. So cute for little boys. I used Wide Oval punch with some DSP paper like the "Sending Love Specialty Paper" #117153 which is still available in the Occassions Mini Catalogue until April 30th. So hurry before it ends!

For Easter Bunny Tutorial, please refer to the right side column of my blog to purchase the tutorial. It holds Step by Step tutorial with 8 steps and 11 pictures. When making the Treat Cup, alternate the body instead of the punch art piece.

Wonderful Mother - Window Card

I've been into Window cards lately. I call it Window cards because you picture your object through a window. The interpretation of a window can be made with borders or edges. In this card, I used a window with an awning and bordered scallop trim to embody the grassy area of the flowers. I choose not to color the flowers just to show more focal point on the window frame :) Though, you may color them, too.

When making the grass, just snip a strip of Old Olive cardstock vertically in thin gaps.

Supplies Needed:
Cardstock: p.155-157 (IBC)
- Orchid Orpulence #100969
- Old Olive Green #100702
- Chocolate Chip Brown #102128
- Summer Sun Yellow #103124
- Melon Mambo (in color) #115320
- Whisper White #100730
Stamp Set:
- Happy Moments #118664- Wood or #119125- Clear p.5 (SAB)
- Well Scripted #117072- Wood or #118601- Clear p.19 (OMC)
Ink: p.155-156 (IBC)
- Chocolate Chip Brown #100908
- Melon Mambo (in color) #115656
Punch:
- Scallop Trim Border #118402 p.9(SAB)
- Large Oval #107305 p.186(IBC)
- Scallop Oval #114889 p.186(IBC)
BigShot:
- Embosslit Die - Beautiful Wings #118138 p.24(OMC)

Birthday Bliss CARD - Window Technique

It's been awhile since I made a birthday card or anything about cakes :) I love cake but my favorite ones are the RED VELVET ones...mmmm.! What's yours??? Anywho, I'm sharing with you a card I made with the inspiration of cakes :) There are no red velvets here but it's a celebration of cakes.

I remember I had 3 birthday cakes at one of my birthdays (i won't tell which one, I'm aging) but I just had a BLAST just blowing the candles!!! The urge of wanting to literally dive into those cakes just would not escape me. I almost did... but of course, I didn't want to ruin it for everyone :) ... but it still played in my mind for quite some time...hee.

BTW, I call this a Window Pane Design card because I was just inspired with window displays the other day and had to make an interpretation of it in a card. Here is my first one. The cakes here are either glazed with Crystal Effects Glue or sprinkled with Dazzling Diamond or painted with Chocolate Chip Brown Marker. Fancy Flower Tutorial - Rose

Ola!!! Would you like to make these lovely flowers??? Who wouldn't? Yup, it's another tutorial and it's free for you. I found these flowers in Stampin Connection and I just had to try making one.... but I couldn't stop...before you proceed to this tutorial... BEWARE.... you might get addicted... mwahahaha !!!

Ok, seriously... before you read along... I'm warning you..... PREPARE TO BE ADDICTED!!!

Ok, you will need the following Supplies, (most of these supplies):

-XL Fancy Flower Punch (use to cut out the petals of the flower)#118073 p.11 (OMC)
-Large Oval Punch (use to cut out your leaves)#107305 p.186 (IBC)
-Stamping Mist (to spray onto your CS) #102394 p.190
-Sponge (for sponging, of course) #101610 p.192
-Bone Folder (no worries, it's not made of real bone... i think) #102300 p.188
-Piercing Tool (no Piercing... just curling) #116631 p.191
-Adhering supplies ( I used hot glue gun so it sticks faster, no hassle, no waiting, but burning involved-- just kidding, just be careful) or you may use Tombow Multi Purpose adhesive #110755 or crystal effects glue #101055 p.192

STEP 1: Crimping and Flattening and Spritzing and Punching (singing to the Sound of Music's My Favorite things)

Crimp your Cardstock, then flatten your CS with your Bone Folder, then spray with your Stampin Mist (your flowers will smell like freesia...mmm. Spritzing moistens your cardstock for easier handling and curling). Then punch out 3 XL Fancy Flower cardstock.

STEP 2:
Then cut out the flower pieces as illustrated. You'll have 5 pieces altogether.

STEP 3: Glue the ends together as illustrated... like cones. You'll have a 2-petal cone, 3-petal cone, 4 and 5 petal cones.

...then snip the tip ends of the pieces

STEP 4: CURLING - start with the center piece (on the one petal cut). Curl on the sides and on the tip, like illustrated.

STEP 5: ADHERING - Glue the tip of the center petal and slip it through the 2 petal cone, then to the 3 petal cone, then to the 4 petal cone, until you have a flower.

STEP 6: CURLING - The most important part to make your flowers look real!!! Remember to have your Cardstock still moist so it's easier to curl them outward.

VOILA!!! YOU HAVE YOUR BEAUTIFUL FLOWER. Now, do you think you can just make one????

STEP 7: PUNCH and SPONGE LEAVES - I almost forgot the leaves. Just fold a piece of Old Olive CS and punch out with your Large Oval Punch as illustrated. Then sponge your leaves with your Old Olive Ink Pad. Adhere the leaves behind the flower and you're done!

Sweet Pea Stitched Felts

I was so happy to get my package from Patty and Tomi yesterday. They both had spared me one package each of the Sweet Pea Stitched Felts as they saw my Cellphone Holders. I expressed that it would look soooo cute.... and here it is! I just love it! As my thank you, I sent these undecorated felt Cellphone holders to them so they can embellish them as they wish. Thanks, Patty! Thanks, Tomi!

These stitched felt embellishment is in the 2010 Occassions Mini catalogue, #117266 p.32 . I'm not sure if it will still be available after April 30th. Order them before supplies last.

I wanted to share what Patty sent with these felt embellishments. It's a cool "Extreme Surfboard" card (#120226 p.11 - SAB) and she really did a great job on it. Thanks again, Patty!
