Christmas in July - Blossom Boxes

Some of you suggested some Christmas Projects in July. Well here's something you'll enjoy to make. With the Blossom Box die #123127, and Christmas DSP "Jolly Holiday" (from last year's catalog) But I can't wait for the new ones in the NEW 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog. In the meantime, here are some polka dot ones with a cute Pennant Reindeer using the Petite Pennant Builder punch #122361.

Remember, when using this Blossom Box die with DSP paper, you'll need your Crease Pad #113476. These pads will give a deeper score impression on the box's folds without cutting it. If you're using a cardstock, you don't need these pads.

To make the Reindeer Tag:

- Petite Pennant Builder punch #122361
- Curly Label punch #119851 with the Hostess Tagstastic stamp set #122747-Clear or #122745-Wood.
- Lace Ribbon Border punch #122362 to make the reindeer horns
- Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Set (circle punch) #118309 for the nose
- Blossom Petals Builder #121808 for the ears
- Owl Builder Punch #118074 for the eyes

Aren't they cute. Sugar cookies from Santa are so going to fit in these boxes :) I used the glitter red paper for his nose. That paper will be available in the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog in Sept 2011. So prepare to stock up because you'll see more projects made with red glitter paper!!! Now you know what items you'll find in the Holiday Craft fair I'll be in this year :) There will be more!!!

Blossom Boxes

It intrigued me when I first saw this blossom box die in the catalog. I heard good and bad feedbacks from people who attended the convention. But the curiosity is just killing me. So, I got the die and tried it on for size.

Honestly, as I got to do my first box, it was very challenging. As soon as I got the hang of it (after the 3rd box) its like making boxes in a whim. I'll be posting some tips to make this box assembly easier. It's just not fair to just tag this beautiful box as a "difficult to assemble" box.

For those who have this die, are you loving it? or hating it? Would love to hear your feedback or questions for tips.

Here are more boxes I made with different colored card stocks with cute owl tags :)

TIP: For beginners, I'd use a DSP first before using a card stock paper. It's much easier to maneuver with SU!s DSP. (only SU DSP is thick enough to make as boxes and pliable enough to handle)

Summer Cake- Just for You

I just love the NEW Pool Party color. Reminds me of Sea Foam blue color. I've always liked this color that's always used in so many home decor elements like in the bedroom or bathroom.

Well here's another cake version of what it would look like with the NEW In colors. I also used the Calypso Coral for the flower. I made the cake also in Wisteria Wonder - the new lavender/purple for me. What's your favorite? I also used the NEW border punches, Lace Ribbon Border, #122362 and Doily Triple Layer #122465.

The new stamp is the New Hostess Stamp Set - Tagstastic #122747-clear #122745-Wood using with the Calypso Coral Ink #122939.

Candy Apple Placecard Holder

Hi! I know some of you are in the Convention this week and definitely having fun. I give my regards to everyone I know who'll be there. With all the swaps, classes, and of course, friends, it's the perfect place to express and share your creativity.
I dedicate this project to you guys. To my down lines, who are now there, my heart and mind are with you.

Here's something to celebrate all of you in the Convention. It's a placecard holder.
By using the butterfly punch and generating 20 pieces, you may put them together as shown in the picture. Funny coz I didn't realize it will come out like an apple. Ergo, the Candy Apple placecard holder.

I used chopsticks cut at 3 inches and used my Itty Bitty Punch Pack (circle) to make the base for my stick. Glued it with hot glue and you have your base center.

To make your flag, use your NEW Pennant Punch #122361. I placed dimensions between them and hot glued the pennant onto the stick. Don't forget to stamp your image or write on the pennant before applying your dimensions. To give that finishing touch, I tied the NEW Baker's Twine #123125 around the stick.

Happy 4th Birdhouse

Happy 4th everyone! I hope your plans for this weekend goes with stunning glow of fireworks and bbq feast. I had some request for a July 4th project and I had to share this with you. Like any celebration, you can't pass up a whimsical decoration for July 4th get-together event. So here's a nice project you can make this weekend for your delight.

My plans for the 4th are usually celebrating it with family and friends. We go to the park after a nice dinner and watch the fireworks. We usually just leave chairs and blanket to save our spot in the park fair in the afternoon. Then by sunset, the band in the park plays for the city as we patiently wait for the fireworks. It's also nice to see a variety of proud and happy people in the park enjoying the sight and sounds. Hou about you? What are your usual plans for the 4th?

Have a nice weekend! Tutorials available on the right side of this blog post. More birdhouse designs HERE.
