Chocolate Yellow Cake Favors

Well, well, well!!! Just really can't stop now!!! There are just endless possiblities of colors and flavors to these cake boxes! I have heard so many feedbacks on how they'd decorate their cakes and, boy, do they have fantastic ideas! Just imagine, baby showers, wedding showers, bridal showers, tea parties, baby birthday, or just simply your birthday :)

For those who don't bake, here's your chance to make your own cake without baking! My sister has the same problem with baking since she's been so afraid to use the oven. We used to have those old ovens when we were kids where you had to use a match to light the gas oven. It didn't have it's own pilot. The sudden surge of gas with the fire in the match overwhelmed her... WHOOOOOFFFF!!! Sent her screaming out of the kitchen. Then again, she should be with someone who was more experienced in lighting up the oven. Poor sister... since then, my mom and I have been the bakers of the family. She'd lick off the spoon and clean off the bowls... that she loved.

If you'd like to experience baking without the oven, here it is. Your family and friends will truely love this centerpiece in your party. Just click here to get your tutorial. For all of you who already got their tutorial, I can't wait to see how yours turn out! Have fun!!!

Remember your flower tutorial is already FREE. Click HERE for your flower tutorial. Remember, skip the Crimping, Spraying and the Distressing of the cardstock. Just curl your cardstocks with a pencil.

Flower Power Cake Box Slices

TADAHHHH!!! Here's another cake box ordered from me by a lady who will be celebrating her class 68 reunion this weekend!!! She had choosen the perfect colors of the 60's "Flower Power" era. I had to bring out my dies that created daisies, gerbers or mums to recreate that theme. As well as picking the right colors of the flowers. She had expressed that she wanted the multi-color flower so I researched on the theme then I was not disappointed!!! It just came out gorgeous!!

You can put some m&m's, hershey kisses, hershey nuggets or mints in them easily. If you're having a TEA PARTY, you can put a couple of tea bags in it :) Ain't that awesome!!!

The added butterflies also gave dimension to the cake since it was looking a bit flat. But with the butterfly wings, it just did the job!

I contemplated and pounded on the decision whether to post my recipe of the cake FREE. But after going through the work I had to put into these cakes, I decided to sell the tutorial. I will be selling my tutorial for $4.99 and I guarantee it will be worth it! Besides, the rose flower tutorial are already free for you to use and enjoy.

First of all, if you intend to sell this work of art as a custom made piece, your customers will never doubt the beauty of this creation. It's a very intricate, detailed and well-structured piece. The tutorial is easy to follow with step by step instructions with photos and illustrations. My tutorials should be kept with pride and I would appreciate it if you can keep from selling, advertising or recreating this tutorial as a video and/or recreating the tutorial. You may use it on your demo classes or creating your party favors or with your business. I assure you, your classes will be full!

Please email or contact me to PRE-ORDER your.pdf file tutorial or click the "Buy it Now" button below. You will recieve a .pdf file via email.

Happy Birthday to my Sister!!!

Today is the birthday of the most lovable, kindest and beautiful sister in the whole wide world. Happy Birthday, Marge!!! How I wish she could see it personally. She lives half way around the globe and this is as close as she can see and read about it. Anyway, it's the long distance thought that counts.

The inspiration to do this project today came from my sister's special day. I would remember our birthday cakes as little girls. We were so lucky to have our mom bake our special cakes every year for the first 10 years :) The best part is, you get to pick what cake you wanted for your birthday. Come to think of it, that was pure labor of love from our mom. So I dedicate this cake project to you, mom, too!!!

I love how the flowers turned out in this project. I did NOT spray anything to make the cardstock damp nor did I use a crimper or bonefolder to distress the cardstock. I just curled the cardstock as much as I could and the paper was still pliable enough to handle and assemble the flower. It turned out sooo pretty and it looked like those sugar flowers you see in the real cake decorations. Here is the instruction for the flowers. Skip the spraying and the crimping and you'll get the exact look of my flowers on the cake. NOW that Pink Pirouette is coming back, I can use my cardstock freely with no hesitation!!! More projects to come with, Pink Pirouette... WOOOHOOO!!!

There are 12 boxes on this cake plate and my original measurements are just perfect for 8" diameter cake. The opening of the box is from the top which can be accessed by gently holding onto the flower.

Mom's Succulent Plants - Part 2

Hi, there! It's the weekend again and I just wanted to give you Part 2 of Mom's Succulent plant arrangements. I took these pictures a week after to see how they're holding up since she planted them in water with rocks. These cactus had grown and lived in soil all their lives so we had to see if they'd survive. And they DID!!!
We noticed that these cactus had new sprouts in the middle and grew faster than usual! Boy, wouldn't that be a sight after a month. Well, stop by again and we'll show how it goes after a period of time. :) If you want to follow my mom's projects in one screen, just click this category: Mom's Corner

Here's another arrangement in a smaller vase. Ain't it cute :) Thanks for stopping by! :)

Playing with Strings and Yarns- A Flower Tutorial

Hello!!! As promised, I'm going to teach you today how to make these lovely flowers with strings! It's my original creation and I hope you like it! You READY?

Step 1: STAMP AND PUNCH - Stamp a piece of cardstock with centerpiece, like the Vintage Labels stamp or anything that may have a center. Then punch out a flower with XL Fancy Flower punch or Scallop Circle Punch. (make sure that the stamped image is on the center). You may also curl your flower with a pencil.

Step 2: THE STRING - Twirl your string or yarn as illustrated below, with your thumb and index finger. You can use both hands to do this (of course, it's much easier, a caveman can do it!!.. jokingly)... Do NOT cut the string yet!!

Step 3: STAPLE - Then staple your string on the flower cardstock piece twice to secure it. TIP: Do not cut the string yet until you fully stapled your string onto the flower.

VOILA!!! You have a lovely stringed-center Flower. Don't forget to add on a small button or a small round embellishment to finish your flower piece :) My note cards featured here are measured at 3"x 3" (cut 3"x6" and scored at 3"). Succulents and Cactus Arrangement by Mom

Mom was so busy one afternoon just making these cactus arrangements. She made a couple of them for display around the house. They looked gorgeous and looked like she had bought them in the store!!! She took empty vases in storage and cleaned them up then started to transfer her cactus nursery into these vases. She added some river rocks and pebbles that were also in storage. What do you think?

Now you know where I get my artistic edge. It all runs in the blood..lol :) I'm so lucky to have my mom :)
