Betty Boop Card - Mojo 158

Yep, it's time for Mojo card! This time with my punch owl "Betty Boop"..hihi. Isn't she cute :) I tried hard to make her look like Betty Boop and I think this is as far as I go. A Pledge for a Cause

Hello my friends! This post is something different from any other blog post I've been writing. This post is an act of pledge for my dear friend, Jocelyn, who is in need in this tough times. She had expressed that her husband, who is the head of the household, is in intensive care suffering from a heart attack and a colon mass and will need 2 immediate surgery procedure, and Andiogram and Colon Surgery.
=======
Here's her plea:
I come to humbly seek help for my husband who recently suffered heart attack due to complication from diabetis, which I only found out he is diabetic during the confinement. Just this week, we also learned from his CT Scan/virtual colonoscopy that he has a big mass in his colon that would require surgery, provided the procedure can only effect after clearance from his cardiologist. As the Cardiologist also require an Angiogram procedure.....

=======
In just her statement, I realized that I needed to do something for her and her family. Here I am, reaching out to pledge what every proceeds I may receive for my tutorials for a week (starting September 23rd to September 30th, 2010). I am offering 5(five) of my 2010 tutorials for $4.99 to go to a monetary fund organized for Jocelyn's plea. Just click the "Donate" button to acquire all 5 of my tutorials. The Wizard of OWLZ - Dorothy

I apologize for the delayed post due to an emergency plea on my last post. Anyway, here's Dorothy! My favorite part about her are her glittery red shoes. Here's how I made them:
- Punch out the half bottom part of the owl (from the waist down) in Real Red CS and glittered the feet red...hihi. Soo cute! The piece looks like an owl's panty hose.
- Then I attached the Real Red piece onto the Marina Mist Owl to cover the bottom part.
- Then attach a white vest onto the owl

TOOLS USED and HOW TO'S:
- 2 Step Owl Punch (use Marina Mist for owl)
- 1/2" Circle Punch (for the eyes, but no eyelids this time)
- Large Oval Punch and Scallop Oval Punch (for the white skirt).Refer to the Baker's Apron post HERE to get the instructions.
- 2 Step Owl Punch (use the vest part of the punch to make a Basic Black Headband). Just cut the bottom part to get the shape.
- Red Glitter (Fine Galaxy #114286). Follow instructions above to make the red shoes.

Wizard of OWLZ - The Lion

Courage to do the things that inspire you to inspire others!!! That's what it takes to be with Stampin' Up! The Lion needs his courage, too, in some other way :) Anyway, here's how I made him:
- 2 Step Owl Punch (use So Saffron CS)
- Scallop Circle Punch ( Chocolate Chip Brown for his mame)
- 2 Step Bird Punch (use the leaf part of the punch for his tail and snip off the other leaves) I used one brown leaf for the tip.
- 1/2" circle punch (for eyes and eyelids - Summer Sun)
- 2 Step Owl Punch (use the same circle on his iris and his nose).
- Use Daffodil Delight CS for his vest
- Use Black fine pen to draw his whiskers

I hear some of you love the Wizard of OZ and some of you loves the lion. I hope I did justice to a lion owl...hihi. Enjoy making him.

BTW, just a question, who needed the heart and who needed the brain? I always get mixed up on those.

Wizard of OWLZ - The Tin Man

Here's the TIN MAN!!! I think you know what he needs, he needs a Brain! But I guess we'll just have to do with making the owl this time..hihi. You'll only need Basic Gray CS and White Craft to sponge.
Here are tools and hows:
- 2 Step Owl Punch
- 1/2" Circle Punch (for eyes and eyelids)
- Cut a little triangle piece to put a cap on the owl and a cut a little piece for the funnel.
- Use Crumb Cake CS for the vest (layer a smaller vest onto the owl so he has 2 vest). To make the smaller vest, just cut down on the bottom side of the vest to make it shorter.
- Sponge all pieces with White Craft Ink before assembly
- Finally, use your White Gel pen and Black Gel pen as screws and bolts for your Tin Man.

Have fun making him!

Wizard of OWLZ- The Scarecrow

Ok, ok! I know you've been waiting for this so here it is! I'll start off first with my favorite, The Scarecrow! We all know that he needs a heart so let's give him one. Here are the tools I used for him:
Punch and Color:
- Small Scallop Oval Punch - for his hat (So Saffron)
- 1/2" circle punch - for eyes and eyelids (Old Olive)
- 2 step Bird Punch - using the wings (Tangerine Tango)
- 2 step owl punch - for the owl (Chocolate Chip brown and Summer Sun or Daffodil Delight)

Freehand Cut:
- Straw in his hands - cut a small A-Frame piece then snip the ends (Crumb Cake CS)
- Patches - cut small squares (Marina Mist and Real Red)

Draw "X"s on the patches and asterics on his hat. Don't forget to apply snips on his hat too!

Halloween Meow

Hi! I was trying to make a black cat for halloween projects and it just dawned on me that I can use the Owl Punch (yes, again) to make the head. hihi... it came out perfect! So here's something you can use on any animals head. Just change colors and eye shapes.

I also inverted the witch's feet in the "Wicked Cool" stamp set. She looked like she toppled over the fence after hearing the cat's MEOW... hihi. I also made some mist in the background using White Craft ink with sponge. Just set punch circles and make a stencil of cloud mist.

Here's a closer look at the cat. The body of the owl was made with the owl punch, too, but I had to cut off the ears and the feet. I free-handedly cut the curvy tail, too. Isn't he a cutie!

Pink Frostings and Chocolate - Cake Boxes

Another cake share! This time, 2 kinds in one! What can I say, it's just a lovely combination - Pink and Brown (one of my favorites):) You may wonder how I did the little white center. Very easy! Just punch out a Scallop Circle punch and cut 2 scallops of one side to the center (cutting it like a pizza). Then I used the 1/2" circle punch to punch a circle on the center.

After you have connected the two ends of the circle to make a little hill, cover the hill with itty bitty shapes punch pack #118309 (flower punch). Start from the bottom rim and cover until the top. I was going to use this a topping for my cupcake :) Oops, have I said too much to reveal an upcoming project? Anyway, enjoy! BTW, some of you have been asking about how I made the roses. Click HERE to get the tutorial.

60th Birthday Cake and Souveneirs

My friend ordered these souveneirs for a 60th Birthday Party and specified she wanted something with the cake boxes. Here's what I came out with. I used Baja Breeze CS for the cake, Very Vanilla CS for the flower, and Chocolate Chip Brown satin ribbon for the sides of the cake box. It looked like Satin Frosting in a layered cake :) Yum! Noticed that I stamped the "Elements of Style" stamp on top of the cake with Soft Suede Ink and didn't put leaves on the flowers. Looks gorgeous!

I made Ghirardelli Boxes to match, too! When I was deciding to put a 60th Birthday tag on it, I changed my mind and found my Butterfly Punch #119848. I wanted to make a chocolate looking embellishment so I simply punch one and added a pearl embellishment #119247. They even looked like bows to me! Doesn't it?

I also used the "Elements of Style" Stamp #120045, for a background image on the box. For the belly band, I used "Crumb Cake" CS. The box came out simple and elegant!
Click HERE on how to make the Ghirardelli Boxes.

Mrs. Baker Owl Punch Art

Hi! Another Owl punch art for you! This time it's a cute baker :) I was so thinking of what to do with my "Homemade" stamp (#116978 p.18) and just hit an idea with one concept. Baking!!! One of my favorite things to do (for the ones who don't know). It's been one of my earlier passion since I was in my pre-teens :) Anyway, I just had to make this tag for the cakes my mom and I make. It's just perfect! I made 2 of them, one in red apron and one in pink apron!

How I made the Baker's Hat:
Use your Butterfly Punch #119848. Just cut half of the butterfly and use that side as the top and then cut the other half with the smaller piece as the hat band. I sponged the edges with "Tempting Turquoise" to give dimension.

How I made the Apron:
Use the Large Oval Punch to punch a small piece for the waist contour. Then use the Scallop Oval Punch to make the scallop edge of the apron. To make the white edge of the apron, use the Scallop Oval Punch twice to get a trim for the edge of the apron.

Supplies Used:
- Melon Mambo Ink Pad
- 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch #118874
- 2 Step Owl Punch
- Butterfly Punch
- Large Oval Punch
- Scallop Oval Punch
- 1/2" Circle Punch (for Owl's eyes and lids)

Disney Designer Tote Bag

I was asked to make a Disney Tote bag using my current design and I accepted the challenge. These totes were going to be a give away for friends who were going to celebrate an event in Disneyland! I just couldn't resist making them.

Anyway, here are the Cardstock Colors used: Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black. I used a 1/2" circle punch to make the Mickey's Ear emblem with gold brads on it. So cute!

When I delivered this order, they filled it with M&M's in a bag and Gummy Bears! It was so colorful I made one for myself..hihi.

OTHER SUPPLIES: The tag was purchased in a craft store.

Nurse Betty Owl - Get Well Card

Hi! Today I made this card for Rachel Chattin. Joy, her daughter, expressed how difficult it is to see her mom so sick and I truely feel the same way too. Rachel, I wish you the best and pray for your full recovery :) I hope "Nurse Betty Owl" will help cheer you up in someway or another. God Bless you always.

To make Nurse Betty's Hat:
- Punch a Whisper White piece with the 2 step Owl punch (the vest only).
- Then invert and adhere the piece behind the owl's head.
- Use the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (4 petal flower) and snip the ends to make a red cross.

How I made the Scallop Rectangle Background:
- I used the Square Scallop die to cut a Marina Mist CS
- Counted 6 scallops from one corner and cut it, leaving the left over piece to overlap the bigger piece. This will make a rectangle for you when you align the scallops again.
- To hide the cut edge, I placed a CS band which represented a branch of a tree for the owl to perch on it. Isn't cute?

Owl Card Details:
Cardstockts:
- Chocolate Chip Brown
- Whisper White
- Very Vanilla
- Marina Mist
- Daffodil Delight
- Certainly Celery

Stamp Set and Ink:
- Thoughts and Prayers #113252
- Early Espresso Ink Pad

Punch:
- 2 Step Owl Punch #118074
- 2 Step Bird Punch #117191(for the leaves and branch)
- Scallop Oval Punch #119856
- Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack #118309 (use 4 petal flower and snip the ends to make a red cross for Nurse Betty's hat)
- 1/2" Circle Punch #119869 (for the owl's eyelids cut in half)
