Birthday Card - Mojo Monday 203

Another Monday and it's Mojo time :) I usually play the contest every first of the month, but then again, time didn't catch up on me :( Anyway, I just had to use my Birthday Bakery stamp set today. I know it's just so last year's Hostess Set but I'm still stuck with it. Love this set.

This time I used the new Textured embossing folders, Stripes #123128 and Houndstooth #123134. The Stripe embossing texture on chocolate Chip CS looked like a bar of chocolate, ain't it?

Also used the new Doily Triple Punch #122465 and Lace Ribbon Border #122362. Cupcakes, Laces and Doilies really go well together. Makes it more delectable.

So here's a yummy goody for you. Enjoy!!!!

Mojo Monday-194

Hi! To begin with, I'm taking a color challenge on this card and would like to focus on Father's Day. I wanted to use a designer paper that would hold blues, greens and browns but I didn't really find any. I'm sure that the NEW SU! Idea Book Catalog will have tons of new designs and colors but I'm starting off with my own :)

I used my 3/4" square punch and the 1/2" circle punch on the design using the following colors:
- Baja Breeze
- Old Olive
- Certainly Celery
- Tempting Turquoise
- Soft Suede
- Concord Crush
- Marina Mist

Then, used the Chocolate Chip Brown for the 4-1/4" x 11" cardstock and scored at 5-1/2" with 5/8" Satin Ribbon. For the Whisper White scallop at the bottom, I just used (4) 1" circle punch.

For the tag, I used the 1-3/8" Circle Punch on Whisper White CS and 1-3/4" circle Punch on Certainly Celery CS with a Certainly Celery Grosgain Ribbon.

You may use any stamp for this card, but I used the "Naturally Serif" sizzlits decorative strip die for my "DAD" and used the "Hodgepodge Happiness" stamp set :)
Cool, huh!

I hope you enjoyed my post today and I'll see you again on my next project!

Mojo Monday 178 - Best Friend Card

This card is dedicated to all my best friends :) Best friends are friends/sisters/brothers who are always there for you through thick and thin. They're always there to bring out the best of you:) So here's to all who stands by me and who I lean on.

I played with colors this time and just discovered that Poppy Parade (the red card) looks so good with bright colors. With this color I used SU's DSP - Ice Cream Parlor #122242 in the SAB catalogue. It's free with any $50 purchase :)
As you can see I used all the colors of the DSP and the card still looks all put together. So yummy :) You can also see how fond I am with the Owl Punch. Best investment EVER!!!!

I plan to frame this card and put it in my Hall of Fame Cards... hihi :) I'm just starting it so I can feature these at my workshops :)

Supplies Used:

- Poppy Parade
- Daffodil Delight
- Old Olive
- Pretty in Pink (the crimped band)

Mojo Monday Card 177 - Valentine Card

You can see that this is my favorite Valentine poem..hihi...I've used it a couple of times on other post.
The roses are red
The violets are blue
The chocolates are as sweet as can be
As you can see
That I declare
That there's love in the air
Happy Valentine's Day, Bonami!!!

So very sweet! Anyway, I wanted to make an all red card but my elements just got lost in it so I decided to put a neutral contrast, Basic Black. They say you can't go wrong with black, right? In my picture, you can't see the Framed Tulip embossed on the Black CS. Trust me it's there :) I just wish my camera takes better pictures :( Also, I just loved the way the card looked with the DSP background which made me make an envelope lining of it.

TIP:
You must be wondering how I made the Framed Tulip embossed on a small rectangle. Pass your paper through the BigShot with the embossing folder once. Then reverse the paper to emboss the other side of the frame. First, align the first impression to the image of the embossing folder, then pass it through only to make that remaining side of the frame. Then reverse your Bigshot handle to release the impression folder.

Recipe for the Love Card:

Cardstock:
- Basic Black
- Cherry Cobbler Red (for the rose)
- Very Vanilla
- Chocolate Chip Brown (for the borders)

DSP:
- Love Impressions DSP #121780 (2011 OCM)

Stamp Set:
- Occasional Quotes #120142-Clear or #117048- Wood (Hostess Set level 3)

Ink Pad:
- Early Espresso #119670

BigShot:
- Textured Impression Folder - Framed Tulips #121809
- Embosslit Die - Scallop Heart of Hearts #117332
Punch:
- Two Step Bird Punch #117191 (used wings for rose petals)

Other Supplies
- Antique Brads #117273
- Jewels Basic Rhinestone #119246

Mojo Monday 176 - Birthday Bakery

It's Mojo time again. I can't believe how time flew from my last Mojo card last month! I've been trying so hard to think of a cute card to go with my "Birthday Bakery" stamp set. Today was a great day to do it with Mojo Monday (not exactly Monday today but I'm not complaining).

Okidokes... I used SU!s In Color, Blushing Bride CS #119796. This color has been sitting on my shelf for a long time and I never realized how yummy this color would be with cake and dessert stamps. mmmm.. Ok, focus now! I combined it with my retired CS Creamy Caramel... (I hoarded). It's just the BEST color ever from a list of my bestevers...lol. Hmmm...I think I really have to make my BESTEVER LIST. Whadya think? Anyway, you can substitute it with Crumb Cake CS #120953.

You may be wondering how I made my eyelet borders curve that way. Just cut little snips on the border (on the opposite side of the border) then bend and fold it with the curves. It looks like lace to me now :)

Here's the recipe for my Birthday Bakery Mojo Card:

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful and caring DAD in the whole world! I was thinking of so many ways of what card to make for my Dad, I almost bought one for him. Thank goodness I didn't because this was worth the thought and process of what it meant to my Dad! You see, my Dad is a very spiritual person and has dedicated part of his daily deed to hear mass. I was looking for a symbol that would signify peace and unity which was what my Dad instills in our family. The ROCK of our family.
Then, I just remembered that I found a punch art of the Bird of Peace a couple of months ago. So I went ahead and ran with the perfect idea of the CARD for him. With almost missing this weeks Mojo Monday, it was just the best time to do it! TADAAAAH!!! My Dad's Birthday Card!

Mojo Monday -133

It's here again! The best time to get Mondays going faster is to make my Mojo Card. That way I don't have to feel how heavy the day goes by. This week, I tried a new thing with my challenge. I incorporated the ColourQ challenge onto my card. Thank goodness, it's much easier for me to pick my colors every week! Great idea, huh! Why not try it! The colors picked are Certainly Celery, Bermuda Bay, Lovely Lilac and Lavander Lace.

As you can see, I made this card with my favorite Vintage Vogue Stamp set. You may also be baffled which DSP I'm using here, it's a 2009 SAB DSP called "Delicate Dots". I also used my Textured Impression Folders "Elegant Bouquet" and "Perfect Polka Dots" for an added lift. I hope you like it!

Birthday Card - Mojo Monday 132

Hi, There! It's not Monday but I'm still doing my Mojo Card. Monday's always a hectic day for emails, chores, bills....etc. But hey, without Mondays, they'll be no Tuesdays and the rest of the week! Right?

Okidokee.. I choose the square card today. It's much easier for me to cut squares than circle. But of course, it's much more fun with circles! Just use the Circle Scissors #112530 p.191 (IBC) and your day is done. I still used the circle scissors by measuring 3-7/8" to cut the inner circle for the scallop circle die #113468 p.199.

In this card I used the ever pretty Spring DSP called "Tea Party" #115675 p.162 (IBC). I made sure I stayed within the color scheme of the DSP, which are: (easily found on the footnote under the DSP image in the catalogue)
- Pretty in Pink
- Certaily Celery
- So Saffron
- Almost Amethyst
- Basic Gray (which I didn't use here)

Aren't you glad that you can work easily with the colors suggested by SU! You don't have to go crazy scrounging for colors and papers. Anyway, I hope you like it!
